City & Guilds Qualifications in Retail Skills



Camden Jobtrain's Retail Programme is the perfect first step to a career in London's expanding retail market.

These awards evaluate people undergoing training or employed in the retailing sector and reflect the international nature of retailing. Subject areas range from retailing theory and practice for those selling goods to customers in stores to a broader range of skills appropriate to those who may also supervise others.



In our friendly, supportive environment you are encouraged to develop confidence as well as knowledge and skills including:

  • Customer Service
  • Merchandising and Display
  • Working effectively within a team
  • Maximising shop sales
  • Moving goods and materials
  • Keeping stock at required levels
  • Shop security
  • Processing cash and credit card transactions

You will also gain valuable hands-on experience through work in our clothing boutique "Aspire", providing a unique training environment selling top brand items.

Once confident, you can move on to a work experience placement with one of our many high street store partners. As well as a taste of London's retail industry, the course provides a first step into employment - many of our learners progress to work in the West End.
